The US customs data can be very helpful in understanding the origins and movements of commodities that are imported or exported through US ports.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) provides Customs data required by the national authority. It includes information such as tones and cargo value, port of departure, country of destination, mode and transportation of transport, and country of origin.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection cleans and aggregates data and makes adjustments to timing and coverage.
